Playblast no longer has sound + reference trouble

Anybody run into this problem?

My playblasts no longer have sound. The sound file plays fine in the window itself, but the movie file I export is silent. They worked yesterday and I hadn't changed anything (that I can remember). I've tried re-importing the sound file and a variety of different settings but nothing seems to work.

Googling the problem hasn't come up with any solutions, either. There are some mentions of bugs, but most of them refer to Maya 2011 and I'm using 2012.

Now about referencing: my Morpheus buttons have stopped working. My namespace string is still listed as "A" in the reference editor, but when I click on various Morpheus controls they're named "A:A:". I think this happened when I imported Morpheus in from a file due to some corruption / wonkiness.

How do I go about changing the references namespace? I get errors like "this namespace already exists" when I attempt to do it in the reference editor. I can manually edit the buttons so that they have "A:A:" in them, but that'd be laborious.

I'd appreciate any tips! Thanks,
Tyler

UPDATE: I fixed my disappearing sound by renaming it to A:A:[filename] in its properties, mimicking my reference namespace trouble. The button / duplicate namespace problem remains. I've tried downloading MEL scripts that rename namespaces, but the process of fixing it removes all animation from the character. Any thoughts?

  1. This is an unusual problem, I'd have to look at the file to be able to figure out what's going on. for the changing the namespace of the shelf buttons - open the Morpheus shelf in a text editor and do a simple search and replace (cntrl-F) = swap "A:" with "A:A" (no quotes)
